Welcome to another Craftin Desert Divas linky party. This party theme is.....
Christmas!!!
Here's my thing
The top of the kitchen buffered is covered with scrapbook paper and ribbon.  I used Zots to connect each card to the paper/ribbon.

All the center cards are handmade, the rest are ones I received.
No more room!
Think I'll send to anyone who sends me another card one of my handmade.  That way I will not miss anyone who sends a card.  I'll be right on top of it.

Just a Scrappin' 12-12-13 Challenge is Create a New Year card or layout using gold, silver and black.  I found a cityscape in my stash and cut it for front of card.  I added gold to a black, silver and white tag.  With gold glitter glue I covered some of the windows.

Here is something I wanted to do for a long time but just never got it past the

planing step.

 1.  I Used a 12 natural wreath with the colors Red, Green, Gold and Sliver for the 12-05-2013 Just A Scrappin'  challenge  2.  I used Zots to place the Red wire edged ribbon on to the wreath by rapping around.  3.  Then added the gold ribbon in the center of the red ribbon using mini Dots to hold it. 4. Added some sliver embellishment and the green and red holly flower.   4.  From pictures I collected over the years I fussie cut the people I wanted to be on this project our family.  5.  I used Zots to hold the pictures, holds better on the ribbon than on the wreath, if you use a glue gun it would hold everything and be permanent.    I'll summit it to both Just-A-scrapping' Challenge and Through The Craft Room Door Anything goes.  Thank you for stopping by and Join one both  for fun.

Today at Just A Scrappin'  Challenge for the week of 11-21-2013 is make a Happy Thanksgiving  card or Layout.   So I started with PrintMaster 10 and cardstock scrap and printed a turkey. I found  my craft feathers and pulled out the fall colors.  This is a funny card.   I fussy cut the turkey leaving the feather that printed on but added a small hole to put the craft feathers ends thru.  After placing all the feather in I taped them to the back of the body.  With a Jumbo Zot I fixed the body to the card base.  With a foam adhesive square I placed the head onto the card.  With colored pencil I drew in his legs.

Happy Turkey Day

1. I used Zots Jumbo dots behind the turkey.  This holds him down to the card stock card front.
2. Applied  pumpkin stickers onto card stock under the turkey.
3. Added to the card stock the "Happy Turkey Day" sentiment on a chip board tag with the orange ribbon. 4. Then used dimensional sticker added the corn, squash apple and acorn.
I'll summit it to both Get Inky! Challenge #17 Thanks & Thanksgiving and Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Anything goes for a kid.  Join both or either today for fun.  Thanks for visiting! Sherry

Today at 'Just A Scrappin'  our challenge is to Create something that expresses who we are ( as a crafter, parent etc).  What a time I had with this one, after a week of thinking, going thru photos and thinking some more I did this...

once I got started it went well.  I cut a sided circle from <cirle4> of Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close to my Heart and used it as a frame, placing many of the sunset pictures my husband and I took over the 20+ years of travels.  Here are sunsets from Iowa to Australia, from New Zealand to China, from Russia to New Mexico  and others I don't remember there names. Then added the K&Company chipboard sliver glitter letters.  I like how it turned out. Hope you can join us in this great challenge at 'Just A Scrappin'. Thanks for visiting and come again!  sherry

Hi!  Today at 'Just A Scrappin'  our challenge is to Create something vintage.  I used cream and black background paper, it reminds me of old wallpaper, inked the sides, added sticker that have the 50's look.  This can

Hope you can join us at 'Just A Scrappin'

Wednesday, October 9, 2013

here is my idea of a fall card with Sentiment.
I used the Xyron 510 to add adhesive to both the patterned ribbon and the plain paper for this card.  I like how the colors match.
1. I ran both the ribbon and the paper thru the 510 Creative station at the same time to save adhesive .
2. applied them onto card stock. 3. added to the card stock the "goodluck" sentiment. 4. I'll summit it to both Craft it up & Operation Write Home Bread designs for free shipping.
Join both on either to day for fun and to help others.

Hope you can join us at 'Just A Scrappin' Challenge. This time it's a Pop Up card!   Here is the front that says Happy Thanksgiving, this as usual is all from my stash.  I added the gobble gobble and the pumpkin pie with small foam adhesive dots.  Inside of the card I used  white card stock at the 5.5 inch square  card size and cut 2" from each side on the fold for the pop up. Then I folded the tab into the card.  Glued the front (colored) side to the inside (white) making sure no glue was on the fold.  I added the 3D sticker with my sister in mind for this Holiday card.  Thanks for visiting and join us at 'Just A Scrappin'

Just-A-Scrappin' Challenge Recycle
Create a page project using only left over scraps - I do this every day so I just dug out my fall stash and stared in. Behind the background paper is punch outs I used for another project so I had a lot left over to use here. This is something I learned a long time ago to save on paper and do with backgrounds and photo mats, this one I had used last year for Halloween cards.   The pumpkin paper I'd used for another fall page I just trimmed it to fit across the page.  The scarecrow is a die cut I did not use the past 2 years on Halloween/Fall lay outs so I added him into the pumpkin patch.  At the very bottom I added leaf stickers in the same colors as the pumpkins.  The saying about Fall is from a sheet of sayings that just fit the page I did here.  Thanks for visiting today and enjoy the rest of the DT projects on Just-A-Scrappin'    Join us in the new season of this year.

I stamped on the spider web in black and added a spider. The bat is a 3D embellishment that sparkles. Thanks for visiting today!  Please join us at Just-A-Scrappin'

Here are 3 of my grand daughters and my Mother-in-law on a plaid background to show I love using lots of color.  The Purple butterflies and flowers are my favorite color and embellishments, the stickers are a great way for me to add writing that everyone can read. Just-A-Scrappin' Challenge for July 18 2013 is Celebrate the great outdoors and Mother Nature using neutral colors and watercolor pencils or chalks.  I do chalks because I have no watercolor pencils. so here's my LO for this one.
Here I used pictures to go next to a LO of the backyard that does not have the close ups of the flowers.  I used My Studio Brass Stencil of the butterfly and Lady Bugs with The Stencil Collections pastel chalks.  It's easy to use but it does need to set and I have a problem getting may arm into the chalk.  I places the pictures trimmed and used the corner rounder then marked where they would go.  Having that I placed the butterfly and Lady Bug stencils and used painters tape to hold while applying the chalks.  This is easy, just pick the color, dip the brush (stiff) and apply to stencil being careful not to get it on the arm.  Remove the stencil and let sit overnight.  I like how the butterfly and Lady Bug came out.  It been years since I used the chalk, but I'll be using them more now.  How about You?  Join us for the challenge at Just-A-Scrappin'

Just-A-Scrappin' Challenge for July 11 2013 is Celebrate the American past-time BASEBALL must add an element using fabric ie ribbon or color swatch.  I really had a time with this because I found nothing about baseball in my stash.  I had to get a free clip art to use on my card.  I colored it with color pencils and added a tag that I cut a long time ago.  I used the rest of my card stock paper that I had cut  to make up tags to save room in my storage.  I added a red ribbon but here
It does not look red but it is, also from my stash. Join us in this challenge at Just-A-Scrappin'

Just-A-Scrappin' Challenge for June 12, 2013 is
Celebrate the special man Happy Father's Day using Browns and Greens.  I'm still working on my Mother's scrapbook so I took a picture I found of my Dad, Clyde, and Mom, Violet, and Me!  I have very few pictures of my Dad, this on is from 1950 and I do not remember him looking like this.  I added the puppy Muffin because of all the dog in the 17 years of raising dogs, she was his favorite.  I used scenic route paper designed by Sarah Mine from my stash for the background that has brown and green. Then added the word stickers from the Paper Studio Family Ties.  I like how this turned out but I must wait for the names because I can't remember how to spell the couples last name.  They were friends of the family all my life.

For this play date I did a 2 page LO for my Mother's scrapbook I'll take to her this June.  I have not seen her for 2 years and a lot has changed.  She is now in a nursing home in Cedar Rapid Iowa while I'm in Las Cruces NM.  Lots of miles apart.  I hope she'll enjoy this one I'm making her now.  I love this color combo.
Here is page 1 with my Mothers sisters and brothers then our family pictures some with my Dad.  I cut mates for each picture because most are OLD Polaroid.  I added the photo of both Mom & Dad in the middle with the doggie number for 1984 the last together photo I could find.  Next I did the 2ed page with my father's family.  I don't have names for everyone because I do not remember how to spell them.  I'll take my marker and ask Mother, I'm sure she'll remember.  The colors a ..Magenta. Teal ... Light gray worked wonderful here.  Join us at Play Date Cafe Challenge #185!
